Who am I?

I heard somewhere it is all about giving it a shot and just kicking it off, so here we go.

hey. I’m Anay.
the guy behind nayfilms.

I’m a fourth year marketing student at U of A, living that Edmonton life after moving from Delhi a few years back. University has been a blur of classes, caffeine, editing at midnight, and surviving on noodles at 2 AM.

this all started way earlier than I thought it would.

Back in ninth grade I went to Japan with my mom. Did not understand the language at all. So I just watched people, followed the vibe, and filmed whatever felt interesting. Somewhere in Akihabara Station with a hand me down camera, I tried to act like a Hollywood director and mostly just blocked traffic. Someone gave me the look. I hit record anyway. That turned into my first short film called “Lost in Tokyo.” Kinda bad. Also kind of perfect.

Fast forward to Edmonton and I somehow landed in rooms with founders, creatives, researchers, and people building cool things. Between exams and campus life, I have worked on videos, articles, and marketing projects that spotlight entrepreneurship, innovation, and the real humans behind growing companies.

making this website was part of the journey too.
scrolling through old projects. rewriting captions. realizing how much I have grown since first year.

not just as a filmmaker.
but as someone obsessed with how ideas turn into companies and how stories actually move people.

I have always been drawn to entrepreneurship. The risk. The curiosity. The let’s try this and see what happens energy. That is what I try to capture in my work. People building things that matter. Cities changing. Big ideas slowly becoming real.

If you are juggling classes, a part time job, side hustles, or just trying to figure out what comes next.

same.

My only rule so far has been simple.

give it a shot.
kick it off.
see what happens.
